SEGREGATED ASSET PLAN STRUCTURES
Providence Insurance Company manages a diverse portfolio of Segregated Assets Plans, which offer unique advantages to certain investors and policyholders. Segregated Assets Plans are part of Providence Insurance Company’s core structure, but may hold specific risk and benefit specific investors, according to the terms of how they are created without the need to obtain new licensing, fund minimum capitalization requirements, or other burdens of starting and maintaining an insurance business.

Commercial Group Health Plan Reinsurance. Many employers seek unique coverage to meet the requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. We cover a number of flexibly designed health plans to meet the individual needs of employers.

Wage Ordinance Markets. On top of federal regulations, many employers face additional challenges in Wage Ordinance Markets through federal wage ordinance laws like the Service Contract Act or local laws. Providence Insurance Company is unique among reinsurance carriers by covering flexibly designed health plans priced on an hourly basis as well as covering plan arrays to meet a benefits grid, depending on the specific rules of the more than 150 wage ordinance provisions Providence Insurance Company is able to service. Since wage ordinance provisions preclude the ability for an employer to structure a captive insurance arrangement or similar structure, Providence Insurance Company does not structure or provide reimbursement or enrichment options for employers subject to these provisions. However, Providence Insurance Company can create tailored and efficient plan designs to ensure that overpayment of obligations does not occur.
